Doctor Who Episodes - A Beginner's Guide

There are hundreds of episodes of Doctor Who, most of which are self-contained. However, if you're just starting out, some episodes are good jump-on points. A good example is the introduction of a new Doctor. For more information, check out a Beginner's Guide.

Jodie Whittaker, who has been playing the Time Lord since 2017, is stepping down from the role after next year. The series is set to recast its lead roles with new faces. Whittaker will continue to appear in upcoming episodes, but she will hand the position over to a new actor. She spoke about her emotions surrounding the news.

The series' producers announced Whittaker's departure in July, but the show will continue with specials until 2022. The new Doctor will be a woman. Showrunner Russell T. Davies will be back to oversee the new Doctor's role. In the meantime, the next series of the popular T.V. series will be the thirteenth series.

The series is currently in the middle of a 100-year celebration of Doctor Who. To mark the occasion, Jodie Whittaker, the first female Doctor, will pay homage to her predecessors, the previous Time Lords. She will wear some of the items that the other Doctors have worn.

Peter Capaldi was recently unveiled as the next Doctor during a special live television event on B.B.C. One. The new Doctor will take over from Matt Smith, who is due to leave the show this Christmas. The actor has previously worked in films and television series, including the critically acclaimed The X-Files.

The new Doctor will be more challenging than his predecessors, but he also has a lighter touch. The series' first Doctor, William Hartnell, was the spikiest Doctor, but he was a good one, too. While Hartnell's Doctor was a good, intelligent, and compassionate person, Capaldi's version was a softer, more human, and charming character.

The X-Files star's departure from Dr. Who has sparked speculation that the B.B.C. will find someone else to take over the role. Peter Capaldi announced that his final season as the Doctor would be his last. This will be his last season working with Steven Moffat, who wrote the series. Whether or not Capaldi will be replaced remains to be seen, but there are already a few possible candidates.

While Troughton is best known for his role as Doctor Who, he also had a successful film and television career. The actor was a fierce critic of theatre and once described the theater as "shouting in the evenings." His broadcast debut came in 1946 with a B.B.C. adaptation of R.U.R. He also had a number of minor film roles, including the Player King in Hamlet and Jim in Escape.

The second Doctor of Doctor Who, played by Troughton, helped set the tone for the series and established the pattern for future regenerations. His portrayal of the Doctor also helped to develop the idea of each Doctor being different from the other. In addition, Troughton brought his own ideas to the series, including what makes a Doctor special and when it's time to say goodbye.

The actor was born in England and trained for the stage, but became famous for his work on television. He also appeared in several science-fiction and fantasy films. In the 1970s, Troughton played the Second Doctor in the hit series. He played the role again in the 1972-1973 series and in 1983.

Matt Smith is an English actor best known for his role as the eleventh Doctor in the hit T.V. show Doctor Who. His other notable roles include Prince Philip in the B.B.C. drama The Crown and Daemon Targaryen on Game of Thrones. His portrayal of Prince Philip earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination.

Smith's tenure as the Doctor lasted more than four years and included guest appearances in Peter Capaldi and David Tennant episodes. He made his first full episode in April 2010 with "The Eleventh Hour," and his final episode was "The Time of the Doctor" in December 2013.

Matt Smith's final episode will be the final one as the Eleventh Doctor. In a recent interview, Smith said that he had enjoyed his role as the Doctor. "I loved playing this role and it was an honor to have the opportunity to play such a famous role," said Smith.
